The Dug Collective was founded in 2011 by Joana Cifre-Cerda, Ross Oliver and myself. We have worked together on a range of multidisciplinary installations in the UK. The approach is fundamentally experimental and resourceful, engaging with the abject and overlooked aspects of the environment and psyche.

In 2012 we were invited onto the residency programme at WAKA in the old town of Palma, Mallorca. We worked with what we could bring from the UK in suitcases, other material was found in the surrounding vicinity of the space. We worked with the doors open to the street and over the period of a week developed an immersive environment of soundwork, performance, videowork and assemblage.

Excerpt of the installation view of Maria and Llouis’ performance. On the opening evening this projection was as shown here but the speakers were placed deep in the water well at the back of the space.
